Care & Compassion: Poetic Pathways to HealingCourses were developed to meet Loving Leaders and their staffs need for soul-care. Care & Compassion Conversations:  Pathways to Healing training sessions provide an opportunity to explore caring and compassionate conversations that lead to understanding and healing, especially during times of unrest. The learning objective in each course is to discover creative tools to overcome stress and renew neural pathways through God’s care and compassion. When He gives care, we can receive His Care & Compassion to maintain loving hearts and hands as we care for ourselves and others.

COURSE #1 - The Sacred Art of Listening

This workshop focuses on listening. No healing can take place without listening. Many people are mindful of how beneficial listening is for healthy relationships; however, what we know in our heads and practice from the heart doesn’t match. Our head knowledge and heart posture are out of alignment. This incredible workshop gives you the opportunity to explore and practice living in alignment through the practice of listening. You’ll experience the need to care and be moved to compassion.

COURSE DETAILS:

This course consists of one online or in-person session meeting for 1.5 hours. This course is designed for anyone who struggles with listening with all your heart.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Identify what sacred listening is and is not.

  • Learn a posture to help improve your sacred listening.

  • Identify ways sacred listening leads to peace.

  • Experience head information to move your heart to compassion.

  • Identify the 8 dimensions of wellness.

  • Recognize how to practice social wellness.

COURSE #2 - Preserve Peace Thru Poetry

This workshop focuses on poetry; however, it extends from the power of expressive writing to discover how writing poetry can help improve physical health and ease emotional pain. The art of poetry aids in communicating in a creative way with yourself, God, and others. Research shows how writing is an effective tool in overcoming the stress that arises from the life traumas our hearts and souls experience. The power in poetry can help you address such emotions as frustration, bitterness, resentment, fury, loneliness, exhaustion, guilt and more.

COURSE DETAILS:

This course consists of one online or in-person session meeting for 1.5 hours. This course is designed for anyone who struggles with regulating their emotions during times of grief or stress.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn how to use your pen as a tool to make a comeback to LOVE.

  • Gain a knowledge of what neuroscience has to say about poetry.

  • Identify scientific ways poetry can be a heart healthy tool.

  • Experience the opportunity to write poetry as a stress management tool.

  • Identify the 8 dimensions of wellness.

  • Recognize how to practice emotional wellness.

COURSE #3 - Create Calm Thru Coloring

This workshop focuses on coloring as an art form that scientific research shows can lower stress levels. Coloring, for some, can be a key to exploring creative ways to be healthy.  Before having difficult conversations during chaotic situations, it is important to gather yourself and focus. The time to practice focus is not during the storm, but before the storm hits. Join me in this workshop to learn a mindfulness tool to help you have fun and focus, too.

COURSE DETAILS:

This course consists of one online or in-person session meeting for 1.5 hours. This course is designed for anyone who struggles with focus and attention in the midst of chaos when you most need to exhibit calm during challenging times.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Use crayons, paint brushes, or colored pencils to overcome chaos.

  • Gain a knowledge of online tools to help you color when crayons/colored pencils aren’t available.

  • Identify what science says about coloring for good health and well-being.

  • Experience the opportunity to color as a crisis management tool.

  • Identify the 8 dimensions of wellness.

  • Recognize how to focus is a form of intellectual wellness.
